1. Introduction
Kjek ("Kjek," "we," "us," or "our") operates the AI Voice Assistant service available at kjek.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Service.
By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up or log in through Auth0, we receive information associated with your account, such as your user identifier, email address, display name, and profile picture (if provided by your identity provider).
Voice and conversation data.When you use the push-to-talk feature, your browser captures audio from your microphone. That audio is sent to our servers and to third-party providers for transcription. The resulting text, your messages, and the assistant's replies are stored in our database as your conversation history.
Technical and usage data. We may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, request timestamps, and error logs when you interact with the Service. This helps us operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and related technologies for authentication and session management. See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the AI voice assistant experience;
- Authenticate you and manage your account;
- Transcribe speech, generate assistant responses, and synthesize speech;
- Store and display your conversation history;
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service;
- Monitor performance, detect abuse, and protect the security of the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on trusted third parties to deliver core functionality. These providers process data on our behalf and under contractual obligations appropriate to their role:
- Auth0 — user authentication and identity management;
- OpenAI — speech-to-text transcription (Whisper) and large language model responses;
- Cartesia — text-to-speech synthesis for assistant replies;
- Cloud infrastructure providers — hosting, databases, and related infrastructure used to run the Service.
When you use the Service, your audio, transcripts, and messages may be transmitted to these providers as necessary to fulfill your requests. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies in addition to our agreements with them.
5. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data on the following bases:

- Consent — where required, such as for microphone access in your browser;
- Legal obligation — where we must comply with applicable law.
6. Data Retention
We retain account information and conversation history for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information longer where required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or for legitimate business purposes such as security logging.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@kjek.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, subject to legal retention requirements.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

- If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Kjek, our users, or others;

9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to data portability or withdrawal of consent where applicable.
You can control microphone access through your browser settings. You may also manage authentication cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

10. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure credential handling. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
